IN State Rep. Carey Hamilton tells it to us straight

Carey Hamilton has actually passed bi-partisan legislation as our rep. How did she do this?

Today we’re joined by State Representative Carey Hamilton, who serves District 87 on Indy’s northside and is the Democratic Caucus Chair in the Indiana House. First elected in 2016, she sits on Utilities, Energy & Telecommunications, Roads & Transportation, and Ethics, and she founded the bipartisan Legislative Trails Caucus.

This year she authored a bipartisan bill—HEA 1289—expanding workforce development for returning citizens. Before the Statehouse, Carey led statewide environmental and recycling initiatives and later worked in climate-tech.

Find out what it's like working in this statehouse, how she was able to get bi-partisan laws passed with this group, and how more of us can work together to save our communities.
