Recently, Indiana's Lt. Governor, Micah Beckwith, posted negatively about Westfield's winter percussion show advocating to use vouchers instead of this public school. This led to an uproar in the Hoosier band world. Band parents are uniting and showing support across the state for this program and all arts programs across the state in public education. <br><br>Beckwith made this horrific post for a reason. He wants to dismantle public education. When a voucher is used, tax dollars fund religious and charter schools instead of public schools. This voucher program hurts our public school kids. Residents&#8212;many of whom are low-income seniors, grandparents, and veterans&#8212;have reported ongoing issues including unauthorized entry, drug activity, physical assaults, theft, and intimidation.</p><p>A major point of concern is the lack of on-site security. The building&#8217;s security operations have reportedly been outsourced out of state, leaving the front security station empty and relying on remote monitoring to call 911 when problems are suspected. Critics argue this creates dangerous delays and leaves vulnerable residents unprotected.</p><p>The building&#8217;s ownership group, based out of Denver, is being accused of failing to uphold commitments made when they took over the property&#8212;specifically, ensuring a safe and secure living environment.
